Inktober 03 Lizardtoad

Lizardtoads are easely mistaken by rookie catchers for Hornedfrogs or Frogaleons (also know as chamafrogs), a honest and harmless mistake since this fellow is far less of a treat, but the embarrassment for displaying a captive lizardtoad as either one of the more exotic species is not preferred over a serious prick or poisoning from the other frogs.

The tongue it's a mixture of both a toad's and a lizard's tongue, with biforked sticky nodes for both hunting and heat proving. It has the habit of leaving it's mouth open for long periods of time, tis is supposed to be for aquick hunt (the lizardtoad is a lazy toad), and this is quite a bad habit on hot climates because sometimes it can dry up its mouth pretty bad, wrinkling the tongue into to a leathery whip.

Lizardtoads are kind of common (as "common" as butterfrogs go) species. The main trait for poachers is their tail, which may look a bit treatening but it's mostly for show, since the lizardtoad uses it to disperse heat and stay cool, the pricks and spines are cartilage and varely a treat even to soft human flesh.
