Bullyfrogs are an aggresive subspecies of Butterfrog, whom are usually the protectors of a given pond -even so when most of the time they are the main -non-lethal- aggresors.

The Hippotoads are generally more aggresive than the average bullyfrog, but they extreme laziness keeps the pond safe from it's nasty demeanor, since its temper flares only when directly treatened or when its food it's at stake (pretty much if anything come anywhere near it) and it will rarely attack out of delight as other bullyfrogs do.

Hippotoads range from "small" (1-2') to massive (5-10'), beign one of the largest buttefrog species, sometimes even larger (wider, not taller) than Ogretoads. The extra big hippos can hide and protect an entire Butterfrog pond within its huge mouth when the need is dire, with the occassional "accidental" swallowing of a Butterfrog or two. Their menacing tusks are not used for defense but for digging up the bottom of ponds when its large size prevents it from fully submerging below water level. Its tremendous weight is barely supported by its stumpy legs but it can manage to make a short jump (or two if its on a low feed season) that goes all the way from 5 to 10 feet. This jumps exhaust the Hippotoad so it only leaps if it's a life or death situation and woe to the unlucky foe who stands on its way.

Its croak can be hear from miles, and it's a nasty combination of a typical bullyfrog coarse croak and a drunken mountain dwarf burp. Not. Nice. Thankfully it rarely does so.
